a basic and very cheap bracelet

The landing of the realme ecosystem has come from the hand of three new devices: headphones, a watch and a bracelet. The latter, the realme band, is the center of the analysis at hand, and is the cheapest accessory of those presented.

Pretty and light

One of the most positive aspects of this product is its design. It is not particularly different from others we have seen but it certainly does not leave you indifferent, with a screen embedded in a gray and black core that curves slightly and a strap that can be removed on both sides.

This strap is available in three colors: black, yellow and army green, the color that we have tested. The touch is not bad but it shows that it is an economic product. The strap is not as rigid as in other bracelets, such as the Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4 or the Honor Band 5.

On the wrist it feels exceptionally light and its little more than 20 grams of weight makes it go unnoticed. Water resistance is guaranteed thanks to the IP 68 certification with which it counts.

A color screen … that is not touch

When realme announced the realme Band I must admit that I did not dislike it, but I also admit that I took it for granted that the screen would be touch. Yes, it is true that the price invites to think that it would not be so, but in such a competitive market this can be a problem.

The form of control is through a capacitive button that we have under the screen, but it is somewhat uncomfortable to have to press it many times to navigate the interface.

On the other hand, the brightness of the screen is configurable in the connection app, but it is insufficient when the sun shines, the same thing that happens to the realme Watch.

As for the customization of the screen, we can choose several spheres, although at the moment the number is very limited. This is something that possibly increases over time, as we have seen in other models, but starting even 5 is too low a figure.

As a curiosity, there is an option in the application that allows you to change the interface from a vertical alignment to a horizontal one. Perfect if you are one of those who carry the screen on the inside of the wrist instead of on the outside.

More functions than what is seen on the screen

The functions of the bracelet focus on sports. We have activity monitoring, heart rate measurement, sleep quality record …

It also serves as an alarm clock by being able to set alarms, as a timer and even as a notification for notifications and calls.

All this can be configured in the realme Link application, an app that, as we will see in the next section, is too important.

A must-have app

One of the aspects that has caught my attention the most about this bracelet is its extreme dependency on the realme Link application. This app is used to link it to the mobile and configure it, but it is also forced to modify parameters such as alarms or sports that appear on the menus.

Not having a touch screen we depend on this way of entering data to be able to modify parameters. The application works well, although it has to load the data every time we open it to link with the bracelet.

In addition, there are limitations in the number of menus that we can configure, something that we do not know if it is due to memory or not creating an infinite menu in which we will have to navigate compulsorily with the touch button on the bracelet.

Autonomy is passable, and charging very convenient

The battery of this bracelet takes us away from the chargers about a week. But the most striking thing about this section is that we do not depend on a cable or charger, but it is the bracelet itself that, removing part of the strap, shows a USB port.

In this way, we can charge the bracelet in a USB dock, in a computer or using the charger of any mobile, if we first remove the USB cable, of course.

The price of the realme Band is exceptionally low

Everything could make one think that this product is disposable, that there are better options out there. Well, yes, there are better alternatives, but they are all more expensive.

The Realme Band costs 24.99 euros, without offers or promotions, and that makes it very attractive for those who want something very basic, that does not have benefits that they do not end up using and who want to spend as little as possible.
