In Austria, the research platform “Addendum” is discontinued after almost three years.

Dietrich Mateschitz as the founder of the Quo Vadis Veritas Private Foundation and Michael Fleischhacker as the managing director of Quo Vadis Veritas Redaktions GmbH came to an amicable decision to end the activities of the foundation and the research platform “Addendum”, said Red Bull on Tuesday.

Despite considerable use of funds and a number of successful and relevant research projects, it was not possible to achieve the goals sufficiently. “Dietrich Mateschitz intends to concentrate the journalistic activities he supports more on solution-oriented projects beyond the everyday political conflicts.”

The Red Bull boss Mateschitz, who had become a billionaire through the energy drink, started his media project in September 2017 under the title “Addendum” (“what needs to be added”). He wanted to close a gap in the media landscape. The team at “Addendum” wanted to contribute to a more complete picture of reality with investigative research and data analysis. The first topic was about asylum and the migration crisis. Most recently, the platform dealt with various aspects of the corona crisis. According to the information, a total of 57 employees are affected by the termination of the research platform.
