Iris Berben turns 70 on August 12. For this anniversary, the ZDF shows the film “Not to get dead” with her in the leading role. As of today, the thriller is available online for streaming.
In the “TV Movie of the Week” Iris Berben plays a mature film diva named Simone Mankus. She wistfully mourns after the wild days of old Shobiz. Now the diva is planning her big comeback with son Jonas. However, when a stalker comes close to her, she hires a taciturn ex-police officer as a bodyguard. The actress lives in her memories, but little by little she realizes that she and her bodyguard have more in common than expected.
As the ZDF announces, the film is supposed to be a homage to Iris Berben and the dazzling Munich of the 60s and 70s. Nina Grosse, who was inspired by Franz Dobler’s crime novel “A Slap in the Face”, was responsible as director and screenwriter. Other roles include Barnaby Metschurat, Helgi Schmid and Philipp Hochmair.
As of today, the film is available in advance from the ZDF media library. The linear TV broadcast will follow on August 10th at 8:15 p.m.
