Apple fixes bugs in iOS, iPadOS and macOS Catalina

Apple has released additional updates for iOS, iPadOS and macOS Catalina. Above all, they should eliminate known errors. According to the company, security gaps have not been closed.

The third and final patch should be of particular interest to users who use the federal government’s corona warning app. Apple admits in the release notes for iOS 13.6.1 that the encounter notifications have been disabled for some users. iPadOS 13.6.1 should also “further bug fixes for your iPad included “, but Apple does not give any details.

For macOS Catalina 10.15.6 there is a supplemental update available for download. It is primarily intended to increase the stability of the operating system when executing virtualization applications.

The developers also fixed a bug that caused the screen contents to be blurred after returning from sleep mode. The error is said to have only occurred in the 27-inch iMac with 5K retina display from the 2020 model year.

As always, users will receive updates for iOS and iPadOS over-the-air. The update for macOS Catalina should also be downloaded and installed automatically. However, it can also be triggered manually via the system settings.

Major updates are no longer expected for iOS 13, iPadOS 13 and macOS 10.15 Catalina. The public beta tests for their successors iOS 14, iPadOS 14 and macOS 11 Big Sur are currently running. The final versions are expected in autumn.
