ASRock DeskMini, new compact with Intel or AMD option

ASRock DeskMini is the series of ASUS brand compact computers and comes updated with two models under the Intel and AMD platform. They are not as small as Intel NUC-type mini-PCs, but they keep a small form factor (155mm x 155mm x 80mm with 1.92 liters of volume) and allow more possibilities when choosing components and upgrading them.

ASRock DeskMini H470

The first is based on a motherboard with LGA-1200 socket and H470 chipset, to accommodate 10th generation Intel processors, models Comet Lake-S up to 65 watts of TDP.

They can accommodate up to 64 Gbytes of dual-channel DDR4-2933 memory and for internal storage it has an M.2 PCIe Gen 3 x4 connector and two free 2.5-inch bays to accommodate SATA solid state drives (or hard drives) -III.

ASRock DeskMini

Regarding their connectivity, they have Gigabit Ethernet (Intel 2I219V); two USB 3.2 Type-C ports and five other Type-A ports and 3.5mm audio combo and microphone input. The connection options to external displays are complete, with HDMI, DisplayPort 1.4, USB-C (DisplayPort 1.4) and a VGA. As an option, Wi-Fi and BT can be installed in an M.2 E 2230 slot.

ASRock DeskMini X300

The second is intended for use of the AMD platform, socket AM4 and X300 chipset, to mount Renoir, Picasso or Raven Ridge series processors up to 65 watts of TDP.

The rest of the components is very similar to the Intel model. It can accommodate up to 64 Gbytes of dual-channel DDR4-2933 memory and offers the same internal storage options with the M.2 PCIe Gen 3 x4 connector and two free 2.5-inch bays for SATA drives.

ASRock DeskMini

The video output is the responsibility of the integrated Radeon graphics, which can output video up to 4K with 60 Hz refresh rate via HDMI, as well as a DisplayPort and an analog VGA. Gigabit Ethernet support is offered with a Realtek RTL8111H chip, while Wi-Fi and Bluetooth option is also present through the M.2 E 2230 slot. There is no shortage of USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports and USB ports. 2.0 type A.
