The campaign of the Income Declaration comes to an end today. Coinciding with its completion, the Civil Guard has alerted this morning of a case of phishing that supplants the identity of the Treasury through an email that ensures that “we are eligible to receive a tax refund of 409.80 euros”, as detailed in the official statement. The institution itself has already confirmed that all communications that make use of this type of messages are false. The objective? Get the taxpayers’ money.
How to check the status of the return of the Income 2019
If you receive an email from the Treasury of the Declaration, be suspicious
A few minutes ago, the official profile of the Civil Guard on Twitter has alerted users of new scam attempts through false emails from the Treasury. The email in question describes the following:
“After the calculations of the last annual report of your fiscal activity we have determined that you are eligible to receive a tax refund of 409.80 euros.
Please submit the tax refund request and allow us 3 days to process it.
To access the form for your tax refund, click here.
A refund may be delayed for a variety of reasons. For example, filing for invalid records or applying after the deadline.
Reference Document: (9205468) ”
The key to this scam, as explained by the Civil Guard in the official statement, lies in the process to calculate the alleged amount to be reimbursed. Once our application is “processed”, The system will return the result “to pay”. Then, the web enables a payment gateway that will urge us to settle our debt with the Treasury through different payment methods. It goes without saying that both the email and the website linked in the message are false. Any communication that the Treasury sends us will be carried out through the platform that the agency has enabled for it.
What can I do if I have already fallen into the thymus
Depending on the payment method that we have made from the linked page, chances are we can’t get a refund by our bank. From tuexperto.com we recommend filing a complaint with the Civil Guard and immediately contact our bank to cancel the operation.
