With the arrival of Realme on the European stage, Xiaomi has begun to experience in its own meats the rivalry of having a compatriot who competes fiercely in price and performance. For this reason, it is increasingly difficult to opt between one terminal and another. Today we wanted take a closer look at the Realme 6 to the Xiaomi Mi 9T, as two of the best exponents of both firms in the mid-range segment.
Before starting to compare both devices, it is important to note that Realme 6 has the advantage of the passage of time, since it has gone on sale well into 2020, while the Mi 9T is one of the most interesting mid-range of the moment, but belonging to the Xiaomi batch of 2019.
Screen and dimensions
When we look at the screens of both devices, we already see some key differences and that in some cases, it could decide the purchase decision. The Realme 6 has a 6.5-inch screen, a panel larger than the 6.39-inch that the Mi 9T sports. Both have FullHD + resolution, but only the Xiaomi terminal can boast an all-screen design, thanks to its pop-up front camera, in front of the hole that the Realme 6 has.
It is very curious that both terminals coincide in the official figures on their weight, with 191 grams. However, the best thickness is on the side of the My 9T with its 8.8 millimeters, compared to 9.6 millimeters. It is very likely that this is due to the greater battery that the Realme 6 sports and that we will see later.
Processor and memory
When we lift the hood, we find very different seals. The Realme 6 has opted for a MediaTek Helio G90T, a mid-range gaming processor, while the Mi 9T has the Snapdragon 730. In the case of Realme we have options of 4 and 8 GB of RAM and 64 0 128 GB of storage. The Mi 9T offers in our country a single version with 6 GB of RAM and 64 or 128 GB of storage.
If we take a look at a performance program such as AnTuTu, we see that the Realme 6 with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, exceeds 290,000 points in this performance program, while the Mi 9T with its 6 GB of RAM , reaches 265,000 points. However, both devices se move well with the most demanding games From the market.
Very different cameras
In the cameras section, the passage of time that we discussed at the beginning plays in Realme’s favor, it has four rear cameras, with 64 megapixel main sensor, an 8 megapixel wide angle, a 2 megapixel black and white sensor and a 2 megapixel macro sensor. For its part, the Mi 9T sports a 48-megapixel main sensor, which reigned in 2019, as well as a 13-megapixel wide-angle sensor and an 8-megapixel telephoto lens.
On the front there is a great difference, since although not so much in megapixels, yes in the system of each one of them. The Realme 6 sports a hole in its screen that houses a 16-megapixel sensor. The Mi 9T does the same with a 20 megapixel selfie sensor, but in this case it emerges in a “pop-up” form from a higher mechanism. This system means that the terminal can offer an all-screen design, but with the possible mechanical complications that this entails at the cost of better speed when starting up a selfie.
Connections, battery and SO
Both terminals carry Android 10 in their guts, with the different layers of each manufacturer, that is, RealmeUI and MIUI, in addition, both are expected to jump to Android 11 when the time comes. However, another difference between the two plays in favor of Realme 6, which has 4,300 mAh with 30W fast charge, compared to 4,000 mAh and 18W charge of the Xiaomi mobile. Both have the main connections, including NFC or Bluetooth 5, but only the Mi 9T has an on-screen fingerprint sensor, since the Realme 6 integrates it on one side.
Which one did I buy?
When we want to buy both terminals, we find the Realme 6 4 GB of RAM for about 200 euros, but if we go up to the variant with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB we find it for about 255 euros. However, the My 9T has not dropped in price enough and at the moment it costs 299 euros. It is possible that due to this difference and given its proximity in time, the battle falls on the side of Realme 6, although you have the last word.
