Despite corona cases against Atlético Madrid: The Champions League quarter-finals between the Spanish club and RB Leipzig should take place on Thursday as planned – Now it is known which players are affected.
For Leipzig it is the first quarter-finals in the Champions League – Atlético Madrid, on the other hand, is in a CL quarter-finals for the fifth time in the last seven years and is now hoping for their first Champions League title after two narrow final defeats in 2014 and 2016.
According to RTL, on Sunday it became known that there would be two corona cases at the Spanish club: the injured full-back Sime Vrsaljko and attacker Ángel Correa. The corona pandemic hits Spain particularly hard, and thus also the Spanish football clubs.
But then the all-clear from the Spaniards: No further corona cases at Atlético – with a total of 93 people tested. And UEFA also announced that “can be played as planned”.
The quarter-finals of the Champions League between RB Leipzig and Atlético Madrid can be followed live on Thursday, August 13th, from 9 p.m. on Sky and DAZN.
