Although we find good terminals in the range of 300 euros, if our budget is around something like 500, we enter a league in which we can buy a high-end full-fledged. Brands like Xiaomi or Realme dispute the throne to the classics with bets like the Realme X2 Pro or Pocophone F2 Pro. For this reason we wanted to face these two high-end titans.
Both the Realme X2 Pro and the Pocophone F2 Pro, cost much less than the high-end that exceed the barrier of a thousand euros. However, they offer benefits and technical advances to match, so the user is at a crossroads not easy to solve when opting for one device or another.
Screen and dimensions
The Realme X2 Pro sports a 6.5-inch screen, while the Poco F2 Pro climbs to 6.7 inches. In both cases we have Super AMOLED technology and a FullHD + resolution. However, despite having more time on the market, only the Realme offers a refresh rate of 90Hz, brake to the Pocophone 60Hz standard. This gives you an advantage in the navigation experience or fluency of some games.
However, the real all-screen experience is on the side of the Xiaomi device thanks to its pop-up front camera. For its part, the Realme X2 Pro has a small notch to house its front sensor. Both have a fingerprint sensor under their screen for safe unlocking.
When carrying the terminal in your pocket, Realme takes advantage again thanks to its 199 grams and 8.7 millimeters thick. The Pocophone F2 Pro raises these numbers to 219 grams 8.9 millimeters. It is likely that the fault lies with a larger battery, as we will see later.
By lifting the hood we find the Qualcomm seal on both devices. However, the Pocophone F2 Pro integrates the most modern and powerful Snapdragon 865, versus Snapdragon 855 from his rival. This, in terms of usability, is not appreciable today, since both offer load times and similar performance in applications. However, in the performance tests of a program like AnTuTu, the score is higher in the Pocophone F2 Pro with its more than 538,000 points compared to just over 467,000 points in Realme.
As for its memory, the Realme X2 Pro offers versions of 6.8 and 12 GB of RAM compared to the Pocophone’s 6 and 8 GB of RAM. Both offer a maximum of 256 GB of storage, which in no case is expandable through microSD cards.
They send the 64 megapixels
When we turned them around, we found four cameras in each device. Also, both lead with a 64 megapixel main sensor. The Realme X2 Pro is also completed with a 13 megapixel telephoto sensor, an 8 megapixel wide angle and a 2 megapixel depth sensor. The Pocophone F2 Pro completes the quartet with a 13-megapixel wide-angle, a 5-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
We also find a big difference in the front camera. As we say the Pocophone F2 Pro shows a camera20 megapixel pop-up mara mara, while the Realme X2 Pro houses a 16 megapixel sensor on its front notch. Therefore, the full screen experience is on the side of the Xiaomi device, although with the drawbacks of having a mechanical system (with its most likely problems) and the slowest time when using the front sensor for selfies or face unlock.
Battery, SO and connections
Another of the great differences is found in the battery, since the Realme offers 4,000 mAh for the 4,700 mAh of Pocophone. However, the most advanced fast charge technology falls on the Realme side, compatible with 50W, which allows the entire device to be charged in about 36 minutes. The Pocophone has a 30W charge that does the same in just over an hour.
Both work with Android 10, although the Realme X2 Pro has been updated from Android 9 Pîe. However, both enjoy the latest layers from their manufacturers with are RealmeUI and MIUI 12. They are also expected to be among the first to receive Android 11 when it is available.
We found the main connections on both devices, including NFC and holding 3.5 headphone jack. However, a small difference is found in the Bluetooth standard, since the Realme X2 Pro has version 5.0 compared to Pocophone 5.1.
Which is cheaper?
The most powerful version of the Realme X2 Pro with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB has an official price of 499 euros. For its part, the Pocophone F2 Pro has not been able to maintain the price of its first model, and part of the 529 euros in its base version of 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, reaching 599 euros in the most powerful version of 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage.
