If you are one of those users who are thinking of changing their mobile, you will see that the options on the market are more numerous and juicy than ever. Manufacturers are engaged in one of the fiercest battles in history, causing us to find great terminals at reasonable prices. One of the classic doubts is between Android or Apple, that’s why we wanted face a whole Huawei P30 with the new iPhone SE of 2020.
It must be clear that we are dealing with different bets and concepts. The benefits, the operating system and even the target audience for each are different. However, the user who currently has a budget of around 500 euros, can choose between these two rivals.
Screens and dimensions
As we say, the screens of both terminals are very different. The Huawei P30 sports a panel 6.1-inch OLED, with FullHD + resolution and a drop-shaped notch. The iPhone SE of 2020 for its part, has a 4.7-inch IPS LCD panel and HD + resolution. In this case, we are dealing with a concept that seems to come from another era and whose advantage is one-handed operation.
If we take a look at the measurements and weight, the terminal Apple once again boasts of lightness and thinness, with its 148 grams and 7.3 millimeters thick, while the Huawei terminal weighs 165 grams and reaches 7.6 millimeters thick. But to the surprise of many, the iPhone SE is more resistant to water and dust thanks to its IP67 certification, compared to the IP53 protection of the Huawei P30.
Processor and memory
When we take a look at the processors, the iPhone SE is when it shows its chest to demonstrate that it is a terminal launched in 2020. While the Huawei P30 integrates the Kirin 980, the iPhone SE is powered by the A13 Bionic, the same brain as the iPhone 11. The device from Huawei offers up to 8 GB of RAM for the 3 GB of RAM of the iPhone SE and up to 256 GB, the same as the Apple terminal.
However, when we take a look at the performance score of the famous AnTuTu application, we see that the P30 exceeds 314,000 points, while the iPhone SE, exceeds the border of 462,000 points. This does not mean that the two can with any aggressive game or multitasking, but the iPhone demonstrates a plus of performance, also taking into account that it moves on a totally different platform.
Very different cameras
If we take a look at the cameras it may seem that we are dealing with two phones with many years of difference, and not that the iPhone SE has been released later. The Huawei P30 sports three rear sensors with 40 megapixel main camera, an 8 megapixel telephoto lens and a 16 megapixel wide angle sensor. On the front and housed in the notch, we find a 32 megapixel sensor.
The iPhone SE features a single 12-megapixel rear camera and a 7-megapixel front sensor. Still it has functions of face unlock, HDR or 4K recording, also present in the camera functions of its rival.
Connections and battery
The two terminals have basic connections, but only the P30 has a 3.5mm headphone jack. We find Bluetooth 5 or NFC in both, although the unlock by fingerprint on the screen is also only a thing of the P30, since the iPhone SE boasts the Touch ID as a fingerprint unlock. In the battery section we also perceive an important difference, given the 3,650 mAh of the P30, with a fast charge of 22.5W, compared to the 1,821 mAh of the iPhone SE and its fast charge of 18W.
IPhone SE was born with iOS 13, which seems to assure you of OS updates for years. Conversely, the P30 was born with Android 9 Pie, it is updated to Android 10It also saves Google’s stumbling block by launching with Google apps in early 2019.
And the prices?
When we look at the prices of both terminals, we see that at the moment we can get a Huawei P30 for about 400 euros, while the iPhone SE rises to 480 euros. In this case the bets are so different, that the user must weigh the shortcomings and advantages of one over others.
