Externally, the Corsair iCUE LT100 kit offers, as we anticipate, outstanding design. I really like the line Corsair has chosen to shape the towers that make up this kit. The black finish gives it an elegant and series touch that contrasts beautifully with RGB LED lighting, and the metallic touch of the base generates a space where said light is reflected achieving a very attractive effect. The base has a non-slip rubber support.

The build quality of the Corsair iCUE LT100 towers is superb, as both the base and the light pillar are finished in anodized aluminum, a premium material that stands out for its good touch, its resistance and its lightness.

At the base we find a lower section with RGB LED lighting and a chrome trim on the upper part, where there is also the insertion area dedicated to the light pillar. Both the base and the light pillar have a silicone diffuser which enhances the effect of RGB LED lighting, and which is identical to the one Corsair used on the iCUE LS100 Smart Lighting Strip. The base has 20 RGB LED lights, and the tower mounts 26, which leaves us a total of 46 RGB LED lights per tower (92 for the two in the kit).

The assembly and connection process of the Corsair iCUE LT100 kit is very simple and intuitive, as we will see in the next section, and the configuration through iCUE has no mystery. In the box we also find a hook finished in plastic that we can place in one of the towers to use it as a stand for our headphones. If you do not have a support for your headphones I am sure that you will know how to value this complement.

Once the presentations are made, we are ready to enter to tell you about our experience with the Corsair iCUE LT100 kit, although first we will finish by reviewing its key specs:

Corsair iCUE LT100: our experience

The installation and setup process for the Corsair iCUE LT100 kit is very simple. In the box we have the two bases, the two light pillars, all the necessary wiring and the optional support for the headphones. It won’t take us more than a couple of minutes complete assembly.

However, the first thing to do before starting the assembly process is think about where we are going to place the two towers. In my case, I could have placed them behind the monitor, but I was clear that I was going to saturate that area too much and that they would not look really good, so in the end I decided to extend the RGB LED lighting of my equipment upwards, and that’s why I put them in a distance.

The result was, as you can see in the cover image and in the video that accompanies the analysis, very good, since they integrate perfectly and They give a touch of verticality to the equipment and the RGB LED lighting assembly.

Well, once we are clear about where we are going to place the kit we are ready to start assembling the Corsair iCUE LT100 kit. In case anyone has doubts about the process, which is unlikely since it is very easy, I leave you a step-by-step summary:

  • The master base, where the three cables are connected, must be relatively close to the PC, since the cable is of 1.8 meters, and the secondary base is connected to the first by a power cable of 1.5 meters, so keep that in mind. That is the margin you have when placing the towers.
  • We connect all the cables to the master base and place it in the place where we want to place it. Now we connect the power cord to the second base. When we have finished we insert the pillars of light in their corresponding space, making the necessary pressure until it fits. It must enter naturally, so do not force and take a good look if you have any problems.
  • Once we have finished we connect the AC cable to the socket and the USB to the PC and that’s it. On the master base we have an on and off button that allows us to use the towers as «lamps» even if we have the PC off.

We already have both towers mounted and ready to be used, so we go to the software. To get the most out of the Corsair iCUE LT100 kit iCUE must be used, a totally free tool that we can download through the official Corsair website and that present a very complete, but simple and intuitive interface.

If you already had it installed, I recommend you check that you have updated to the latest version, and if not said, download and install it, it will not take more than a few minutes. In the attached images you can see all the options that iCUE offers when customizing the Corsair iCUE LT100 kit. We can choose from the different preset effects, like the rainbow wave which is frankly one of my favorites. We can also activate the lighting by sound and by video to generate high quality surround effects.

In games that are supported by immersive lighting from Corsair we will enjoy a truly unique experience. As our regular readers will remember, compatible games include titles such as The Division 2, which is the one featured in the attached video, Metro Exodus, and Far Cry New Dawn. Remember that it is necessary to activate the “SDK” option in iCUE.

The quality of the lighting is outstanding. The RGB LEDs that make up the Corsair iCUE LT100 kit are top-notch, and the silicone diffuser not only protects them, but also creates a truly unique effect that perfectly matches the design of these towers. Excellent work from Corsair, both in the lighting and in the quality of construction and in the support at the software level.
