Facebook Messenger now allows screen sharing in video calls

These months we have seen how video calls have gained special prominence, during the confinement that has affected Spain and the rest of Europe. That is why many applications have made improvements to their video calls, as is the case with Facebook Messenger, which introduced group video calls into the application.

These group video calls are very popular on Facebook Messenger, so the app improves them. Since the possibility of screen sharing in them. Thanks to this function we can show the rest of the participants in it what is happening on the screen of our mobile.

Screen sharing in video calls

This screen sharing function is already being deployed among users, available in the latest version of Facebook Messenger. Thanks to it you will be able to show what happens on your phone to the person (or people) you are calling at the time. It can be used in video calls with up to eight participants at the same time, according to what has been known. It can also be used in the rooms, where the number of participants is up to 15 people.

In order to share the screen during a video call in the popular application, the steps to follow are:

  1. Open Facebook Messenger.
  2. Choose the person or people with whom to make this video call.
  3. The video call in question begins.
  4. Unfold the bottom of the interface.
  5. Tap Share Screen.
  6. Accept the permissions.
  7. Wait for screen sharing.
  8. When finished, display the bottom menu and click the stop sharing screen button.

If you want to use this function in the new rooms of the application, where we can have up to 15 participants, the process to follow is the same. In the lower menu is where we find this function, the button that says Share screen, to be able to use it in our video calls.

You just have to have the new version of Facebook Messenger, which we can download now in the Play Store, in order to use the function. This new screen sharing function is launched on both Android and iOS, in addition to the desktop version of the application, to also be used on PC.
