Fitbit Versa 2: what can the Apple Watch alternative do?

With the Versa series, Fitbit is venturing into the field of smartwatches and the US company is doing it surprisingly well. The Versa 2 is not only reminiscent of the design of the Apple Watch, also in terms of functionality, the smartwatch does not have to hide from its Cupertino model. It has numerous fitness functions, creates a sleep index based on heart rate, sleep duration and movement, has integrated Amazon Alexa, informs the wearer of messages, calls and app notifications and also has cycle tracking on board, which means women can use their periods can keep an eye on.

Thanks to NFC, Versa 2 can be used to make contactless payments via Fitbit Pay; a list of the banks involved can be found on the Fitbit homepage. Music streaming from Deezer is also supported, the Spotify app can only be controlled. The Versa 2 is compatible with both Android smartphones from OS 7.0 and Apple iPhones from iOS 12.2.

Fitbit Versa 2 falling in price: strike now or wait?

The MediaMarkt offer is quite tempting and definitely worth it for anyone who does not yet have a smartwatch and is looking for a cheap alternative to the Apple Watch. Those who insist on GPS and can do without smartwatch bells and whistles prefer to go for the Charge 4 or wait for the Versa 3, which could be released this autumn.
