Wearable specialist Garmin has been struggling with the complete failure of its systems since Thursday. According to media reports, it could be a targeted attack.
Garmin is currently paralyzed: Due to the failure of all services, the manufacturer’s devices cannot synchronize with them. All channels of the call center (email, phone and chat) as well as Garmin apps are also affected. According to their own statements, work is under high pressure to get the system up and running again. Obviously, a ransomware attack triggered the problems, such as “heise.de” reports.
The company also shared the following about the problems via Facebook: “We are currently experiencing a system failure that also affects Garmin Connect. As a result, the Garmin Connect website and app are currently unavailable. The failure also affects our support including telephone, email and chat. We are working on a solution and apologize for any inconvenience. ”
The wearable specialist’s website is now available again.
