With Android 11, Google will introduce a new version of the mobile operating system, which will cause anticipation among many smartphone users. Now it is known that Google has removed a feature that many find very useful. Accordingly, it is badly received.

Android 11: album cover no longer on the lockscreen

Android 10 is just being distributed for many smartphones, and Android 11 is already the successor. With the new operating system, Google will introduce many functions that users have been waiting for. Data protection is also improved. But not all changes are equally well received by users. It has now become known that Google no longer wants to display full-size album art on the lock screen. Instead, the cover is only shown slightly in the music control – reports 9to5google.

Google has confirmed the change and says it is a way to avoid blurring the image on the big screen of the phone. For many users, this reason is incomprehensible. You would like to keep the big covers while listening to music on the lock screen. But that will no longer be possible. The control of music, however, remains possible.

This still changes with Android 11:

When will Android 11 appear?

According to the current schedule, Google will probably complete the final version of Android 11 at the end of the third quarter of 2020 and offer it for download for its pixel smartphones in a timely manner. The waiting period for many cell phone users then begins. Samsung and Co. could of course intervene and decide that the display of the album cover remains on the lock screen and keep it on their own cell phones. On Google phones and devices that run pure Android, on the other hand, you will have to do without it. GIGA will inform you when Android 11 is available for download.
