This renovation introduces more Material Design elements into the app.

Google Maps for Android Auto is renewed
The interface of Google Maps in Android Auto needed major renovation. For this reason, Google now introduces more Material Design elements in it, to update it and make it more modern, more in line with other applications of the brand. This causes us to see floating buttons and floating menus now within the application.
On the other hand, the corners on the banners are somewhat more rounded. The menus within the application are also modifiedIn addition, the application will work better now when using it in landscape mode. Since until now, the menu took up too much space. This is now reduced, so that the route can now be seen without problems, while the menu is smaller and is limited to one of the sides.
Updating Google Maps in Android Auto is a reality, but at the moment not all users have access to this new interface. It seems that it is being deployed from the server side, so we will have to wait for Google to make it available to all users. The update is coming as part of Maps version 10.45, so you’ll have to make sure you have it.
