An interesting rumor ensures that Rockstar could be working on two major projects, GTA 6 and a remake of GTA Vice City. Yes, you read correctly, in a new installment of its well-known franchise and in a remake of one of the most beloved games in the series. Sounds good right? But what is true in all this and when could we see such games? Let’s analyze it.
The first thing to keep in mind is that the sources that point to GTA 6 and a GTA Vice City remake are different, and therefore have a different value and credibility. On the first we have already seen multiple rumors and alleged leaks that are quite credible, including from the issue of the financial report that we discussed at the time to the professional profile of a former employee.
The conclusion is clear, the question we must ask ourselves It is not if we will see a GTA 6, but when we will see it. We are talking about the goose that lays the golden eggs from Rockstar (developer) and Take-Two (publisher), so that game will end up arriving sooner or later.
GTA 6 and a remake of GTA Vice City: exclusive to the new generation?
To this day the sources still do not agree, that is, we do not know clearly if GTA 6 will be a title exclusive to the new generation of consoles or if, on the contrary, It will also end up coming to PS4 and Xbox One. Seeing the trend that Rockstar has maintained, I think it is likely that, in the end, they will end up opting for an intergenerational launch, in fact GTA V reached both generations, Xbox 360 and PS3, and Xbox One and PS4, but keep in mind that there is no nothing confirmed, and that I could be wrong.
As for the GTA Vice City remake, there is no doubt that Rockstar could drive fans of its well-known franchise crazy with a game of this caliber. At the time I was able to play it on the original Xbox, and what can I say, I really enjoyed it, especially for the soundtrack and the careful setting it presented. The remake should keep both keys, and provide for a complete face lift at the graphic level.
If we talk about possible release dates the thing is complicated, without a doubt. We could see a GTA 6 and a GTA Vice City remake, but both are unlikely to arrive at the same time. Rockstar would have two options, launch the GTA Vice City remake first and continue making money with it and with GTA V, which would give it more time to polish the development of GTA 6, or do it the other way around, that is, launch GTA first. 6.
On a personal level I am more inclined towards the first option, but we are moving in the terrain of rumors, so for now we are going to control our expectations and wait. I know we’d all love to see a GTA Vice City remake, but it hasn’t been officially announced, so be patient.
