The gfu supervisory board chairman announced his farewell after more than 20 years in the committee at a press conference today.
The Supervisory Board has elected Kai Hillebrandt (51), Panasonic Germany, to succeed him as Chairman. From 1997 to 2011, he held various managerial positions at Philips. From 2011 to 2018, he was responsible for Samsung Germany as Vice President and Head Consumer Electronics Division. Kai Hillebrandt has been Managing Director Panasonic for the Netherlands and German-speaking countries since April 1, 2018.
He has been on the gfu Supervisory Board since 2018 and has previously served as its deputy chairman. In addition, Kai Hillebrandt has been Chairman of the Consumer Electronics Association at ZVEI since 2017, of which he has been a member since 2012. Hillebrandt has also been Chairman of the Board of the Photo Industry Association (PIV) since 2019.

One of the milestones in Kamps work at gfu was its introduction
the annual IFA from 2006, the expansion of electrical household appliances from 2008 and the intensive IFA partnerships with specialist retail cooperations, as well as the introduction of the CEMIX (Consumer Electronics Market Index) – today HEMIX – in 2006, which was developed by gfu together with the partners BVT (Federal Association of Retail Technology) and the market research company GfK is published. This created a uniform, reliable and recognized market overview for planning security for the industry.
On the conception and planning for the first joint cooperation fair of
Euronics and expert in Berlin, which is scheduled for spring 2021, is Hans-Joachim Kamp
also intensely involved. Kamp also provided ideas for the development and establishment of the lecture event gfu Insights & Trends, gfu’s annual innovation forum, which premiered in 2012.
