Home office, video calls, webinars – due to the corona crisis, digitization has quickly entered many companies. Schools found it more difficult to implement digital concepts. They can learn a lot from the business world.
The Corona epidemic quickly forced us to completely change our work and school life. Our previous physical workplace has been moved home; our daily work processes, meetings, team meetings, conference visits and further education events in the virtual space. Instead of physically moving between different conference rooms, we switched between different virtual conference tools.
The daily invitations to the “daily check in” in the team and / or with managers were found in many calendars. The weekly sports and yoga classes, the weekly aperitif or the regular work-out meeting with colleagues were also moved to the virtual room. Not infrequently, professional meetings ended with an unofficial part in the living room call over a glass of beer or wine.
The changes were extreme. The speed at which they happened was phenomenal. Anyone who had technical or specialist questions or who wanted to be trained in terms of home office or virtual work had no problem finding what they were looking for in the resulting inflationary offer of webinars and online courses. The offerings included almost everything: tools in the home office, designing the home office area, virtual teamwork, virtual leadership – but also meditation and mindfulness, time management, self-organization, appreciative communication even in the virtual team – by just a small amount Play selection.
Regardless of how things go in a time after or with Corona – back to the presence culture, primarily virtual or in mixed forms – one thing is clear: we used the Corona Weeks to experiment and learn. As an individual, in a team and in the company.
