  1. Open Settings.
  2. Enter the Google section.
  3. Click on Backup.
  4. Check the data to be saved.
  5. Click the Create a backup now button.

These steps allow create such a copy of all items on the phone. The copies that are made are stored in Google Drive, so that we can see them there, in addition to accessing them from our account at all times. When using this function on Android, it is recommended to have WiFi activated, since these copies are heavy and can consume your data rate completely.

This backup on Android allows saving application data, call history, contacts, device settings, photos and videos (those in Google Photos) and SMS messages. So most of the data you want to keep safe is saved in this case.

Full copies on Android

Contacts

  1. Open the contacts app.
  2. Enter your Settings.
  3. Enter the Import / Export section.
  4. Tap Import from SIM.
  5. Select the contacts.
  6. Click on Import.

Files and documents

  1. Open Google Drive.
  2. Click the + Button.
  3. Click Upload or Create a Folder first.
  4. Choose the file or files to upload.
  5. Repeat the process with the desired files.

WhatsApp conversations

  1. Open WhatsApp on the phone.
  2. Click on the three vertical points.
  3. Enter Settings.
  4. Click on Chats.
  5. Enter Backup.
  6. Click on the Save button.

Photos and videos

  1. Open Google Photos.
  2. Click on the top three horizontal stripes.
  3. Enter Settings.
  4. Tap Backup and sync.
  5. Activate the option.
  6. Select the quality of the photos.

Emails

  1. Enter this link.
  2. Go to the Data and personalization section.
  3. Scroll down to Facts about what you create and do.
  4. Tap on Gmail.
  5. Scroll down to the Gmail dropdown box, tap the bottom three dots and tap Download data.
  6. Select what you want to download.
  7. Choose the file type and weight.
  8. Click the Create export button.
  9. Wait for the file to download.
