Huawei has announced a colorful and waterproof new smartwatch designed specifically for children. It is equipped with two cameras and has a separate learning mode. The Huawei Children’s Watch 4X can already be pre-ordered in China.

Huawei has launched a new three-color smartwatch that has some interesting features. The target group is clearly children, which is illustrated, among other things, by a special learning mode. AI functions should not only recognize photographed objects, but also explain them to the children. There are also various competitions where children can be measured against their friends, as Gizmochina reports.
The highlight of the Huawei Children’s Watch 4X is clearly the camera system. The manufacturer even installed a dual camera here. One of the lenses can be found directly above the display, while the other is positioned on the upper edge of the smartwatch. The former can take pictures at up to 5 MP and enable video calls at 5 MP, while the second camera allows photos at up to 8 MP. There is also a fourfold digital zoom. According to Huawei, the watch is waterproof up to 50 meters.

The AMOLED display of the watch has a diagonal of 1.41 inches and has a resolution of 360 x 320 pixels. The smartwatch is powered by an unspecified Kirin processor, which has 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of permanent storage. The battery has a capacity of 800 mAh and is to be filled in half in 20 minutes using a quick charge mode. When fully charged, the watch is ready for use for one day. WLAN, LTE, GPS, NFC and Bluetooth are included.

Huawei’s children’s smartwatch costs 168 euros
Huawei wants to officially start selling the watch on August 19, 2020. A pre-sale has already started via the Chinese retailer Vmall, where the Huawei Children’s Watch 4X is available for the equivalent of 168 euros in the colors white, pink and gray. It is not yet certain whether the watch will also be officially available in Germany.
