Huawei has announced the launch in Spain of the MatePad 10.4, a new model that comes to liven up the mid-range of Android tablets.
The sale of electronic tablets has dropped considerably. Apple dominates the high-end with the iPad Pro and only Samsung with models like the recent Galaxy Tab S7 seems able to cope. The rest of the market is shared by 2 in 1 with Windows, like Surface Pro, while in the low range, only Amazon stands out with the Fire. Users simply prefer to use their smartphones.
And in the mid-range? Microsoft offers the Surface Go 2 which is by far the best experience on a Windows tablet and Apple has the basic and mini iPads to cover the segment, but on Android, once Google took the Pixels out of the equation, the truth is that there is little that can attract the consumer. The Huawei MatePad 10.4 tries to change the situation.
A step below the MatePad 10.8 that we recently presented to you, it is based on a multi-touch IPS screen of 10.4 inches diagonal, with 2K native resolution, 470 nits maximum brightness, reduced frames and support for stylus pens.
It supports 70.8% of the NTSC color gamut and has its own technology (ClariVu Display Enhancement) that, through a set of algorithms, optimizes dark images, the quality of video scenes, as well as color saturation and sharpness. The screen has been certified by TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light to reduce eye strain.
Huawei MatePad 10.4 is powered by a Kirin 810 chipset. A proprietary development of the firm manufactured in 7 nm processes, with eight processing cores, a Mali-G52 graphic and artificial intelligence functions. The amount of memory and storage is tight, but should be sufficient.
The sound system has been enhanced with four speakers and tuning by Harman Kardon, while the battery offers a capacity of 7250 mAh. It has a double 8-megapixel front and rear camera, USB Typo-C port for charging and data, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1 and the usual sensors in tablets.
