AMD has a really interesting year. The well-known manufacturer has released some processors that are putting the almighty Intel on the ropes. And not just on desktops, as the new laptop processors from the American manufacturer have attracted some of the biggest manufacturers in the industry. And among them is Lenovo, which already has several computers with AMD processors in its catalog. From now on even some models of the gaming range will be available with the new AMD Ryzen 4000H chips.
Just a few days ago Lenovo introduced the Lenovo Thinkstation P620, a workstation that debuted the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO processor. Now the manufacturer has presented its new Lenovo Legion gaming equipment with an AMD processor. It’s actually a review of the Intel-powered models that were introduced this spring.
Starting this summer, the manufacturer adds AMD Ryzen desktop and mobile processors to five new Lenovo Legion gaming computers. For the portable range Lenovo has opted for an AMD chip up to Ryzen 7 4800H. The AMD 4000H series is, to give you an idea, the one that competes with the 10th generation Intel H processors. For desktop models, however, Lenovo has preferred Ryzen 7 Series X processors, equivalent to Intel’s K series. Specifically we can find even the Ryzen 7 3950X, a processor with 16 cores. Let’s see which computers in the Lenovo Legion range will include the AMD processor option.
Lenovo Legion 5
One of the first computers to be available with AMD’s new processors is the Lenovo Legion 5. It is available in two sizes and comes equipped with mobile processors AMD Ryzen 7 4800 H-Series paired with graphics NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.
This equipment offers a screen with refresh rate of up to 144 Hzresolution Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels) and 15.6 or 17.3 inch. Some may even incorporate technology Dolby Vision to offer higher image quality. It is also equipped with speakers Harman Kardon and surround sound Dolby Atmos.
Accompanying the processor we have up to 16GB of 3200MHz DDR4 memory, 1TB of PCIe SSD storage and cooling Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0. As for the keyboard, the keys offer a depth of up to 1.5 mm, are backlit and are 100% Anti-Ghosting.
Finally, the 17-inch model of the Lenovo Legion 5 offers up to 7.5 hours of autonomy and Rapid Charge Pro for faster loading.
Lenovo Legion 5P
Another equipment that will be available with the new AMD processors is the Lenovo Legion 5P. It has processors AMD up to Ryzen 7 4800 H-Series Mobile and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 GPU.
Equip a screen 15.6 inch with resolution Full HD and a shine of up 300 nits. It offers a refresh rate of 144 Hz, with a response time of less than 5 ms; in addition to Dolby Vision optional.
Accompanying the processor we have up to 32GB of 3200MHz DDR4 memory and up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. It also features Harman Kardon speakers optimized with Dolby Atmos and Lenovo Legion TrueStrike 100% Anti-Ghosting keyboard with 4-zone RGB backlight, multimedia keys and numeric keypad.
The Lenovo Legion 5P sports a striking iron gray design with the “Y” logo illuminated in white. Have less than 25.4 mm thick and weighing 2.5 kg. On the other hand, inside we find the Lenovo Legion Coldfront 2.0 cooling system, which has copper heat sinks and a four-channel ventilation system.
Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3
He Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3 It is a 15.6-inch laptop with FHD display, fine bezel design and optional refresh rate of 120 Hz. It has mobile processors AMD Ryzen 7 4800 H series and one NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 Ti GPU to enjoy a better graphic experience without shooting the price of the equipment.
Complete the technical package up to 32GB of 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, up to 1TB of PCIe SSD and dual Dolby Audio speakers. On the other hand, it is equipped with intelligent cooling through Q-Control 3.0 from Lenovo and offers a range of up to 7 hours.
When opening the lid of the laptop we will find a blue backlit gaming keyboard with a 1.5 mm key travel. The kit will be available in two eye-catching colors: Chameleon Blue and Onyx Black.
Lenovo Legion Tower 5
Not only Lenovo Legion laptops are going to offer the option to purchase them with AMD processors. Among the desktop computers we have the Lenovo Legion Tower 5, which comes with the desktop processor AMD Ryzen 9 3950X with 16 cores. This is combined with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER GPU, which allows you to play the most demanding games with a high frame rate.
The technical package is completed by very fast Wi-Fi 6 connectivity, a storage capacity of up to two 1TB PCIe SSDs and two 2TB 3.5 HDDs and up to 128 GB of 3200 MHz DDR4 memory.
All this accompanied by great thermal performance, including the possibility of including an optional 200 W liquid cooling system, and a chassis in a Raven Black tone with transparent side panels and an elegant lighting system.
Lenovo IdeaCentre Gaming 5
Finally, the Lenovo IdeaCentre Gaming 5 It will be another of the computers that will receive the AMD configuration. Specifically the processor AMD Ryzen 7 3700X along with a GPU NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060.
A tower that stands out for its elegant blue color and because inside we find a series of thermal improvements that allow the system to cool and silence the fan noise under heavy gaming loads. On the other hand, the team has Dolby Audio, up to 32 GB of DDR4 memory and various storage options.
All Lenovo Legion computers with AMD processor released today will hit the market between July and October 2020.
