Long documentary night in the SWR on "Love in times of Corona"

With the competition “Love in times of Corona”, SWR and the MFG Filmförderung Baden-Württemberg wanted to offer the documentary film industry a platform for creative content. The results can be seen on SWR TV in August.

Twenty short films are said to be shown on August 6 from 10:45 p.m. under the title “Love in Corona times”. That makes a total of almost three hours of film entertainment. The selected works have been available on the ARD media library and on the SWR YouTube channel since July 16. The twenty titles are those that were funded within the scope of the competition with 10,000 euros each.

In the works, filmmakers tell in a variety of ways about life during the Corona crisis. They all have one thing in common: they deal with love. No matter whether the love for the partner, for music or simply love for one’s neighbor. The length of the films varies between 5 and 10 minutes.

Clemens Bratzler, Program Director Information at SWR and one of the initiators of the competition, comments: “I am very pleased that many creative filmmakers from Baden-Württemberg have accepted the challenge of getting involved in the project during this difficult time. The films are an expression of the diversity of our society, are full of surprises and offer funny, bizarre or simply touching stories that are great fun. And they show the great potential of women producers in the country. “
