Mediengruppe RTL’s “content heart” is now almost complete: Thirty journalistic management positions have been filled after an extensive selection process.
The four editors-in-chief Tanit Koch (Zentralredaktion Mediengruppe RTL), Sonja Schwetje (ntv), Jan Rudolph (RTL interactive) and Michael Wulf (RTL) have put together a new team. However, in order to filter out the most suitable candidates, Mediengruppe RTL experimented for the first time with an assessment center based on the latest aptitude diagnostic standards – normally unusual for the selection of editorial management tasks. The editors-in-chief are very satisfied with the result and they want to fill the vacancies by the end of September.
Mediengruppe RTL wants to further develop its selection process with a clear perspective for the future allocation of content-related leadership roles and those with personnel responsibility. The newly created department of the central editorial office also emerged from the transformation process. The responsible management teams will start by September 1 at the latest and report to editor-in-chief Tanit Koch.
The leading people include the journalist and long-time presenter of “Exclusiv” Frauke Ludowig for the VIP section, Nikolaus Blome for the Politics & Society section and Danny Reinhardt for the Life section. Jan-Oliver Schütz, who previously set up the digital news section of RTL.de as Topic Lead News, will be the Head of the News section. Patricia von Berg will head the Business & Mobility department, to name just a few. The new management team is expected to be complete by the end of next month.
