The first hard drives burst at the seams with the size of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. The big updates are annoying in two ways: long downloads and outgoing storage.
The Season 4 Reloaded Update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone added another 30 GB depending on the platform. Depending on the possession of Free2Play or full version, there were differences again.
Reddit user shares a screenshot of his Modern Warfare folder in one thread. The game is 209 GB in size on his PC. Other users also have a space requirement of over 200 GB on their systems. However, some are still slightly below. These numbers are for Modern Warfare and Warzone.
Players who only have Warzone installed require a good 100 GB of memory, which is still not a small amount. The full game forces Owners of small hard drives, make them free for Call of Duty only and uninstall everything else. Players whose Call of Duty is on a 250 GB hard drive must be afraid of transferring the Call of Duty to a larger hard drive at the next major update, which in case of doubt must first be bought.
At least Unused parts of the game can be removed on the console. But if the demand continues to grow, it will look bad for small hard drives.
Many comments from the Reddit thread testify to anger and lack of understanding. Some don’t understand how problems like cheaters or broken audio can’t be fixed despite the big updates.
We’ll see if Season 5 will crack the 300 GB.

CoD: Modern Warfare – Another massive update, space consumption continues to grow
Many will have noticed it on Monday, the latest update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone again comes with a 30 GB download.
On May 18, 2020 there was another huge update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone. Players can be happy about the content innovations, but with an update size of a good 31 GB, the fewest jumps in joy.
The whole game scratches slowly, whether on PS4, Xbox One and PC, at the 200 GB mark. Especially on the normal PS4, the Xbox One S or other models with a 500 GB hard drive, the game soon takes up half the space and forces players to limit their game selection.
On the PS4 there is also the problem that a good 100 GB of free space is required for updating. Infinity Ward, as a developer, cannot do anything for it, but it still poses problems for the players. The big updates are also rather unpopular for players with moderately good download speeds, should it still exist in Germany. Even with 100 Mbit / s download speed you still need three quarters of an hour for the 30 GB. For those lying underneath, for example, “just a round of gaming” would have been difficult on Monday evening.
Do you also have problems with the big updates and the total size of the game on your hard drive? Write it down in the comments.
