After an online store accidentally leaked it, Microsoft confirmed that the multiplayer for Halo Infinite will be playable for free.
The website of a toy retailer probably got ahead of Microsoft and announced under a pre-sale offer that the multiplayer for Halo Infinite will be free.
After the news of the Free2Play model for Halo Infinites multiplayer mode Microsoft did not try to stop the whole thing, but rather confirmed the information itself:
The tweet also confirmed the dealer’s information that the game would be on the Xbox Series X at 120 FPS run, a good thing for a multiplayer shooter.
With a Free2Play model, however, the question then arises as to how monetization should be guaranteed. Halo Infinite should be a reboot in the spirit of the series, which many players have already noticed about the “old school look” of the graphics. But whether they really go back to a time when there was simply a multiplayer to the game and no money could be invested in skins, weapons or other things, remains to be seen.
Halo Infinite appears towards the end of 2020 for Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC.
