Music star released new album first on streaming service

Is Disney + now competing for Spotify? Ironically at the Disney + streaming service, Beyoncé would like to release their new album first. There is a good reason for this, because it should be a very special album that could also be used as a music video in the length of a feature film. Other musicians could follow soon.

Disney +: Exclusive Beyoncé album

Disney + was previously not known for music endeavors. It should be films and series that convince customers of the new streaming service. But that could change soon, because with Beyoncé a real superstar has decided to show their new album exclusively at Disney +. The cooperation appears unusual at first glance, but still makes a lot of sense for both sides.

Beyoncé is not planning a classic, but a “visual album” that could be described as a long music video rather than a normal studio album. One name is already certain: “Black is King” is the name of the large-scale experiment at Disney +. The singer is said to have received inspiration from the new edition of “The Lion King”, where she was already responsible for the soundtrack.

There are said to be more parallels to “The Lion King”, in advance. Beyoncé would like to translate the story told there into the life of a young man with dark skin. The title “Black is King” makes direct sense. The music, on the other hand, comes from Beyoncé’s album “The Lion King – The Gift”, which was released in 2019. A release of the visual album at Disney + is expected on July 31, 2020.

Here is the trailer for Beyoncé’s “Black is King”:

“Black is King”: Disney + album against racism

With “Black is King” Beyoncé would like to send a signal against racism again. The singer has been campaigning against racially motivated social inequality for years. With the “BeyGOOD’s Black Business Impact Fund”, Beyoncé has just launched a new project to help entrepreneurs of dark skin color get through the corona crisis better in the USA.
