With the OnePlus Nord, the Chinese manufacturer has once again presented a cheaper smartphone that is impressive. Perhaps OnePlus also saved at the wrong end, as a new video shows. The OnePlus Nord is rather fragile.
OnePlus Nord: No chance in the endurance test
The OnePlus Nord can convince with upscale hardware and a price of 399 euros. The famous YouTuber Zack Nelson from JerryRigEverything took a closer look at how it looks in terms of stability. The new OnePlus cell phone simply cannot keep up here. The smartphone can be bent by hand with strong force in such a way that the internal components and the frame of the OnePlus Nord break. The strong display, however, does not break – but the cell phone has become unusable.
It should be well known that cell phones in the back pocket should not necessarily sit down. OnePlus Nord is certain that the smartphone will suffer considerable damage if it is forgotten in the back pocket of the pants. In the case of the housing, the decision was made to use plastic – even if it looks like metal at first glance – the back itself is made of glass (Gorilla Glass 5).
Gorilla Glass 5 is also part of the display of the cell phone as protection, which is noticeable in the scratch test. There are no surprises here, because scratches are only visible from level 6 of the Mohs hardness scale. The glass-covered camera hump on the back of the cell phone is also not easy to scratch.
