“As enchanting as ‘In love with Berlin'”, Sixx announces its new telenovela. There is already a preview today and from Monday the regular broadcast of “Betty in New York” will be on TV.
The Mexican Beatriz Aurora Rincón is supposed to walk in the footsteps of Lisa Plenske, the main character of “In love with Berlin”. On July 27, the Latin American telenovela “Betty in New York” will celebrate its German TV premier at Sixx. The episodes are always broadcast from Monday to Friday in the evening program at 6.20 p.m. The series was originally produced for the Spanish-speaking US broadcaster Telemundo and is based on the Colombian telenovela “Yo soy Betty, la fea”. The same format is said to have served as an international template for “In Love in Berlin” and “Ugly Bette”, as ProSiebenSat.1 announced.
Sixx boss Wiebke Schodder explains: “Our aim has always been to show the best series for young women – we are looking around the entire international market for this. Already with the Brazilian telenovela, Total Dreamer ‘, sixx achieved up to 5.3 percent market share among young women last year, and with, Betty in New York’ we are bringing another international production into our sixx family. “
The series is about the shy Mexican Beatriz, who moves to New York City. There she wants to gain a foothold in the fashion industry as “Betty”. But in the superficial and scheming fashion world, the wallflower soon has to struggle with ridicule and humiliation. Will she be able to ignore the prejudices?
This Sunday (July 26th) there will be an exclusive preview of the first episodes at Sixx at 10.15 p.m.
