OnePlus introduces OnePlus Nord 399 euro smartphone

It relies on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G. The 90 Hz AMOLED display has a resolution of 2400 by 1080 pixels. While the main camera comes from the OnePlus 8, OnePlus saves on the USB connection, which only supports USB 2.0.

OnePlus has launched a new mid-range device as part of its first augmented reality smartphone launch worldwide. The OnePlus Nord is content with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G and combines this with the features of the company’s premium smartphones. For the entire package, the company is calling at least 399 euros in Germany.

The Snapdragon 765G already supports the upcoming 5G cellular standard. OnePlus provides him with 8 or 12 GB LPDDR4X-RAM depending on the size of the internal memory. The memory is either 128 or 256 GB and supports UFS 2.1.

The 6.44-inch display also has a resolution of 2400 by 1080 pixels, which corresponds to a pixel density of 408 ppi. It supports the extended P3 color space and is protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

The main camera, which is based on the Sony IMX586 sensor, is taken over by the OnePlus Nord from its big brother OnePlus 8. It offers a resolution of 48 megapixels with a size of 0.8 micrometers. Four pixels can be combined into one pixel using software, which then has a size of 1.6 micrometers.

There is also an ultra-wide-angle lens with 8 megapixels and a viewing angle of 119 degrees and a deep lens with 5-megapixel resolution on the back. The fourth camera enables macro mode. However, it only delivers 2 megapixels.

The dual front camera consists of a 32-megapixel sensor with a fixed focus and an ultra-wide-angle camera with an 8-megapixel sensor. It also supports the unlocking of the smartphone via face recognition.

In addition to 5G, the mobile radio technologies LTE and GSM are also on board. The OnePlus Nord also supports 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1 with the audio codec aptX HD, NFC and GPS. The USB-C port only allows USB 2.0 connections. The device also accepts two SIM cards, but no SD cards.

OnePlus specifies the permanently installed battery with 4115 mAh. It can be powered with the Warp Charge 30T quick charger included in the packaging. The scope of delivery also includes a factory-fitted screen protector and a protective phone cover.

OnePlus offers the 158.3 by 73.3 millimeter, 8.2 millimeter thick and 184 gram smartphone in the colors blue marble and gray onyx. From August 4th, it can be ordered with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage for 399 euros. The variant with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB memory costs 499 euros. Amazon currently offers pre-orders that have Amazon Prime a discount of 30 euros.
