Not good news for some OnePlus users. It is common for many of the functions that are launched in new devices to reach older ones that are still in the hands of thousands of users. However, OnePlus has not fulfilled this timen and some of the most anticipated, they will not be finally implemented in terminals such as the OnePlus 6, OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 3.

OnePlus announced that many of the new features launched in the latest flagship terminals, would be implanted in other more veteran. However, the XDA medium has had access to exclusive information about OnePlus plans, which now leave aside the users who were waiting to receive these news.

Ram Boost for the OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T

As detailed by the medium, OnePlus confirmed in its official forums that the function of RAM upgrade optimization would come to the OnePlus 5 and 5T. This is one of the new OxygenOS functions that were implemented for the first time in the OnePlus 7. Now OnePlus has confirmed that the function will not reach these terminals due to a hardware compatibility issue.

Caller ID on OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T

It was early last year when Caller ID launched exclusively in India for the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. Shortly after, OnePlus operations manager, Manu J, indicated that the function will be implemented in the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T as part of the Android Pie update of these devices. However, the stable version of Android Pie does not integrate the function and the company has indicated that it will not finally arrive.

OnePlus 3T

DC Dimming for OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T

We are facing one of the key functions of the OnePlus in recent years, since the DC Dimming function manages to lower the brightness by reducing the intensity without having to resort to this method that continuously turns off the pixels and turns them on again. It is somewhat beneficial by limiting the eye strain that causes headaches and migraines after a long exposure on the effects of flickering. The feature has been around in the beta version of OxygenOS for these devices for over a year, but it has not been released in the stable version. Now we know that the terminals will not finally get to receive the function.

Also the OnePlus 8

Apart from these functions, there are still other pending promises such as the DualSIM 5G support, from OnePlus 8. In other words, two SIMs can be inserted and two simultaneous 5G connections can be used, since the terminal only supports two 4G SIMs or a single 5G SIM card. The company promised that this would be updated via an OTA patch that has yet to arrive. According to XDA, support could finally arrive during the fourth quarter of the year.
