The coastal thriller series with Nordic flair and Hinnerk Schönemann in the leading role is now also starting in Austria – today the first episode of “Nord bei Nordwest” is on ORF 2.
A stiff breeze, white sandy beaches, picturesque dunes – where others just go on vacation, the former city cop Hauke Jacobs aka Hinnerk Schönemann (“Marie Brand”) wants to pitch his tents. A decelerated life as a country veterinarian on the Baltic Sea should provide the loner with the necessary peace.
But the idyll is quickly over: When Hauke discovers two bodies on a stranded fishing trawler, abysses open up in the small village. Henceforth, Henny Reents, the head of the one-woman police station and the veterinary assistant Marleen Lohse are always on hand to assist him in the investigation.
Marc Brummund directed a script written by the three-time Grimme award winner Holger Karsten Schmidt. Other roles include Tambet Tuisk, Jan Henrik Stahlberg, David Bredin, Emma Drogunova and Nastassja Revvo.
The opening episode “Captain Hook” of the black-humorous coastal crime series “Nord bei Nordwest” is on ORF 2’s program as an ORF premiere this Friday, July 10, at 8:15 p.m.
