Those of us who expected a cheaper version of the Mi Band 4 are in luck, since the Mi Band 4C is already a reality after being presented a few hours ago in Hong Kong. The bad news is that, again, it has little. The smartband than Xiaomi just presented is nothing more than a rebranding of the Redmi Band released a few weeks ago.
As such it is a bracelet that, at the level of specifications, falls below the Mi Band 5 and Mi Band 4 and its main virtue is a design change that turns to a more square and polygon screen than what we can find in what high in the firm’s wearables catalog. In fact, if you had to lock it to another device, it would be with the Realme Band of its most direct competitor.
Will it arrive in Spain?
Revealed alongside the Redmi 9A at the end of May by the Philippine division of Xiaomi, we now have the official information on the brand’s new device and we can confirm that it is only the same Redmi Smart Band marketed by the firm’s sub-brand a few weeks ago. . Apparently, there are no differences at all, which means that in those markets where the Redmi Smart Band has already been released, the My Band 4C will not appear.
In Spain we do not have either, so it is difficult to know which of the two models will land in our stores at a price of 19.99 euros in exchange. Most likely, its gap is filled by the Mi Band 5 and the brand does not want to detract from this launch with more versions of previous bracelets.
Features of the “new” Xiaomi bracelet
All the features of the Redmi Band are present in the new bracelet so no one will be surprised to find a 1.08-inch square color screen available in four colors: black, blue, red and brown. In general, the design of the wristbands rejects the pill shape in favor of a square format that seems to be cheaper to produce for the firm. You can also immerse it in water thanks to its 5ATM resistance.
One of its strengths is the battery, which Xiaomi promises to last for 14 days. It has a quick connect direct charging solution. Unlike the standard Xiaomi Mi Band, the bracelet and the main body are designed in the same module and cannot be separated, but you can connect it directly to the USB-A port to charge it.
In addition, the Mi Band 4C also supports heart rate monitoring, sleep monitoring, sedentary reminder, and other features like mobile sync to replicate alerts and notifications. You can also control the music from the device.
