PS4 players will see an increase in their game selection. A shoot ’em up previously only available on the Xbox and on the PC is finally coming to Sony’s home console.
The classic Cuphead combines charmingly difficult Run – & – Gun with animations from the 30s and turns it into a demanding shoot ’em up that cast a spell over players worldwide.
In 2017 the game was released for the PC and Xbox One, followed in 2019 by a version for the Nintendo Switch. PlayStation players have been looking into the tube so far, but the developers listened to the wishes of the fans:
“To all passionate PlayStation fans who have sent us messages over the years: We are delighted that you can experience Cuphead up close,” said StudioMDHR’s Co-Director Chad Moldenhauer.
Cuphead: update for Xbox, but no multiplayer
StudioMDHR also announces a free update for the Xboxthat will add a digital art gallery, a behind-the-scenes look and a playable soundtrack to the game. No release date for the update has been announced, but since it’s not very big, it could be implemented soon.
There is no way to start an online multiplayer session on PlayStation 4 through the game. However, when it comes to playing the game remotely, multiplayer is not impossible. Some fans had the idea to use the PlayStation 4’s Share Play feature to set up a cooperative online game.
Cuphead is now available for Mac, PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.
