Releasing a Xiaomi mobile: my 5 basic settings

I have always been amused by the comments of the people around me when they change their mobile. All without exception complain about how boring it is for them to install all the applications again, look for the passwords, make sure that they do not lose any data when moving from one mobile to the other …

And also all without exception look at me with compassion when I tell them that I do it approximately two or three times a month, every time I have to start the analysis of a mobile.

But, in addition to all these tasks, when I use a Xiaomi mobile I worry about modifying some aspects practically as soon as I turn it on and put the Google account. These are the five basic settings without which I never start an analysis.

App drawer

Since recently, this brand allows you to configure desktops in two ways, with all the dispersed applications, like the iPhone, or with an application drawer, as Android does natively.

Whenever possible I use this last option to avoid having scattered icon folders on the desktop. One of the most important basic settings for me.

Do not disturb mode

Another thing I do is activate the Do not disturb mode so that the device does not make any sound. It doesn’t even ring on calls, although this is because I always have some kind of clock connected that vibrates when someone wants to contact me.

Activating gestures

To control the terminal for years I have not used the virtual buttons on the screen. Luckily, in the latest versions of Android, Google implemented the gestures and for even longer time brands such as OnePlus, Samsung, Huawei or Xiaomi itself have them in their interfaces, which is why I can always configure them.

Setting the footprint

Another setting I always configure is fingerprint unlock, regardless of where the reader is.

Of course, when it is possible I scan the same finger several times, which significantly improves detection, both in speed and precision.

Face unlock is mandatory

Next to the fingerprint unlock, I usually configure the facial unlock with two important details.

For starters, I always mark as on the setting that allows the mobile to turn on the screen when it moves. I mean, the settings Activate on lift. Along with this, I activate the option so that after unlocking me show desktop, and stay on the lock screen.

Removing the watermark from the camera

The last function is the only one that I forget from time to time. By default Xiaomi has a watermark in the camera app, and as soon as I shoot the first photo and remember that it was there, I deactivate it.

And you? Do you have some basic settings when you change mobile?
