With the now introduced Galaxy M31s, Samsung heralds a new era. The affordable entry-level smartphone has four features that are otherwise only available in much more expensive phones. The manufacturer still has two answers, however.

Two trends have dominated the mobile communications market for several years: top smartphones such as the iPhone or Samsung’s Galaxy S are becoming more and more expensive; on the other hand, entry-level and mid-range smartphones are catching up and no longer have to hide from the flagships. The new Samsung Galaxy M31s is undoubtedly a representative of the latter trend.

Samsung Galaxy M31s: entry-level smartphone with many top-class features

In its new entry-level smartphone, Samsung is integrating four functions that potential cell phone buyers usually only find in more expensive cell phones, reports SamMobile. The shapely Infinity-O-Display, for example, which brings along a central camera hole. Samsung has saved this type of screens in the past for the higher-priced Galaxy A and S series. The diagonal is 6.5 inches, the resolution is Full HD +. The basis is the bright Super AMOLED technology.

Another novelty in this price range at Samsung: the 25-watt quick charger, which is included in the scope of delivery. So the lush 6,000 mAh battery should be quickly recharged. And to round off the package, there are two camera modes, “Single Take” and “Night Hyperlapse”, which are otherwise only found in more expensive Samsung smartphones.

Inside, the Exynos 9611 works in conjunction with – depending on the model – 6 or 8 GB RAM. 128 GB are available for user data. Samsung is also no slouch when it comes to cameras and installs a quadruple snap: A 64 MP main sensor (Sony IMX682) is flanked by a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (123 degrees). On top of that there are two 5 MP sensors for live focus and macro shots. A 32 MP camera for selfies is installed on the front, Android 10 including One UI 2.1 serves as the software basis.

When the Samsung Galaxy M31s comes to Europe and how much the smartphone will cost here is not yet known. GIGA will keep you up to date.
