The brutal knight epic about the fictional Templar leader Landry du Lauzon is now in its second season with the streaming provider. Luke Skywalker actor Mark Hamill also plays an important role in this.
The history of the Templar order is surrounded by numerous myths and legends, somewhere in between lies the historically more or less proven truth. The Netflix series “Knightfall” tells of the fall of the Templar order: In the second season, the story of the fictional Templar leader Landry du Lauzon (Tom Cullen) continues. He is a brave warrior, but he is gradually discouraged by the Templar failures in the Holy Land.
“Knightfall” is most comparable with the fantasy epic “Game of Thrones” or with the Viking series “Vikings”. In the second season of “Knightfall”, the actors slip into old and new roles: Olivia Ross can be seen as a clever diplomat Johanna I, Bobby Schofield plays the vengeful Knight Templar and Sabrina Barlett embodies Isabelle de France. In addition, Julian Overden as Guillaume de Nogaret, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina as thief Adelina, Padraic Delaney as disarmed ex-knight Gawain and Simon Merrells as crusader veteran Tancrede are again in the roles.
The biggest addition to the cast of the bloody series happening, however, is a visibly aging Mark Hamill, who gained world fame more than 40 years ago as a young Jedi Luke Skywalker in George Lucas ’terrific space epic“ Star Wars ”. In “Knightfall” Hamill plays a grouchy instructor and Templar veteran – and you can see the impish charm of the role interpretation that the actor has gained a lot of experience as a voice actor for comic book films in the past decades.
