Both the OnePlus Nord and the iPhone SE demonstrate that there are also excellent and really powerful terminals in the mid-range. But what differences are there between the two? Which one is more worthwhile?
Not everyone can afford to spend a thousand euros or more on a mobile device. Luckily, today we have great alternatives for much less money, so the real problem is to really choose from the entire catalog of mid-range smartphones. The new OnePlus Nord is one of the best options but not the only one, because if we want to go beyond Android we have the small but powerful iPhone SE 2020.
However, OnePlus Nord or iPhone SE 2020? The war is served.

Both the OnePlus Nord and the iPhone SE 2020 fit within that spectrum of powerful but inexpensive terminals. A rare bird on the market today and that shows that you can still manufacture terminals with high performance and at very affordable prices. Now, although the two phones coincide in having an outstanding value for money, the benefits of one and the other are not comparable.
The iPhone SE 2020 mounts the A13 Bionic chip, same processor as iPhone 11 Pro and one of the most powerful today. In contrast, the Chinese OnePlus Nord bets on the Snapdragon 765G that although by power is not at the same height, it is enough and is that as we have always said, at the end of the day there are much more important aspects than the processor.
The OnePlus opts for 8/12 GB of RAM and the iPhone for “only” 3. Likewise, while the battery of the Chinese mobile is 4115 mAh, the iPhone SE bets on a figure of 1821.
Performance or in other words, Android or iOS?
As we have mentioned before, despite the fact that the iPhone SE 2020 has a more powerful processor, the performance of both terminals is remarkable and few different we will notice in the day to day. With both phones we will be able to carry out any task, so choosing one or the other depends on other issues. Do I prefer iOS or do I prefer Android? We all know the performance of the bitten apple operating system as well as that of the Android version of OnePlus, with that wonderful layer called Oxygen OS.
Therefore the decision – in view of a similar performance – will have to be for personal reasons. One user will be better off iOS while another will prefer Android and its freedom. Be that as it may, both operating systems are quite mature and stable, so choosing both one and the other will be a success.
We enter within the main difference of both devices, its screen. The iPhone SE 2020 is a compact terminal with a 4.7-inch Retina HD screen and quite questionable frames. By cons, the OnePlus Nord bets on a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1800 and with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, without a doubt one of the biggest claims of the Chinese terminal.
Obviously if both processor and performance both terminals were fairly even, on screen the OnePlus wins by a landslide. Not only because for many users and brands a 4.7-inch panel does not make sense today but also because of the 90 Hz of the Chinese terminal.
The iPhone SE has the same photographic section as the already veteran iPhone 8, although the A13 chip performs excellent photo processing, hence the photographic quality of the Apple terminal maintains the type this 2020. Now, in terms of photography the OnePlus Nord wins the Cupertino phone again not only in quality but also in possibilities and options, being a much more complete smartphone thanks to its configuration of rear and front cameras and the camera app.
In conclusion, both the iPhone SE 2020 and the OnePlus Nord are excellent options for all those looking for a terminal around 500 euros. Although in general terms the Chinese device is more complete, iOS alone can tip the balance, especially taking into account the support that Apple is going to give to this little boy and that leaves the rest of the brands in a very bad place. It all depends on the needs of each one but what there is no doubt is that we buy the one we buy, we will not regret it.
