The best of the new Samsung Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra: 7 news you might have missed.
The new Galaxy Note20 and Galaxy Note20 Ultra are already here, and aim to become the two reference mobiles in the market in 2020.
To do this, Samsung has decided to equip its latest phones with the more advanced technologies that we have never seen in a mobile from the Note series, and despite its similarities with last year’s models, this pair of terminals incorporates interesting news worth considering.
1. The most advanced and smartest S-Pen to date
Once again the S-Pen smart stylus is the great protagonist of the Note series.
On this occasion, Samsung has equipped its new phones with a S-Pen which increases its sensitivity to 4,096 levels of pressure, the highest figure in the history of the Note series.
In addition to that, the company not only maintains the gesture control introduced together with the Note10, but also offers the possibility of create custom gestures to carry out different actions.
However, the main novelty of this S-Pen is its new stroke prediction system, which has allowed Samsung reduce the response time of the stylus just 9 milliseconds. This function, yes, is only available in the model Ultra.
2. The best camera seen so far on a Samsung
With the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, Samsung has decided to follow the same path as with the S20 Ultra in terms of photography, providing the terminal with three sensors led by a 108 megapixel resolution camera.
But, as a novelty in that sense, Samsung intends fix focus issues suffered by the S20 Ultra through a system of improved laser focus, which will support the main camera.
On the other hand, the telephoto has also been improved, and now it’s brighter. Its digital zoom capability has also been reduced to a maximum of 50x, which should deliver better quality results than the S20 Ultra at its maximum of 100x.
3. Three years of updates, finally
Probably the most important news of all yesterday: Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra will receive system updates for three years, thus giving a change of course to Samsung’s strategy in terms of support.
But they will not be the only ones, well Samsung confirmed than all its high-end from the Galaxy S10 will also benefit from this strategy.
4. The first screen with adaptive refresh rate and Gorilla Glass Victus
A detail that went unnoticed during the presentation of the Note20 is the fact that the Galaxy Note20 Ultra introduces a pioneering display in several respects.
The first is the fact of being the first panel with adaptive refresh rate, so that the panel will be able to adjust its refresh rate dynamically based on the displayed content.
Thus, for example, when the mode is displayed Always On Display, the refresh rate is reduced to as low as 1 Hz, and ranges from 24, 30 and 120 Hz when playing video content.
The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 are the first high refresh rate mobile devices with variable refresh rate support. Hopefully, that’ll lead to much better battery life.

But that’s not all: the Galaxy Note20 Ultra is also the first mobile to arrive with Gorilla Glass Victus technology, in charge of protecting the mobile screen. This new glass should offer greater resistance to bumps and scratches.
5. New “Ultra Wide Band” chip
Was mentioned passing by by Samsung during the presentation, but it is worth dwelling on the fact that the Galaxy Note20 Ultra is one of the first mobile phones on the market to incorporate a ultra-wideband chip, which will enable much faster connections between devices.
In that sense, Samsung has confirmed that this technology will enable faster file transfers between devices, using systems like the new Android Nearby Share.
6. Samsung DeX, now without cables
The DeX platform It has also received a renewal with this new generation of the Note series, so that, now, users of the Galaxy Note20 and Note20 Ultra will be able to use this utility wirelessly.
To do this, simply connect the devices to any type of Smart tv.
7. More than 100 Xbox games on mobile
Taking advantage of its good relationship with Microsoft, Samsung has decided make the Galaxy Note20 the ultimate mobile gaming machine via Xbox Game Pass Ultimate compatibility.
In this way, it will be possible use the Xbox Game Pass app to run Xbox titles directly on mobile through the cloud. In that sense, in addition, Samsung will offer a bundle special with your new devices.
