The best antivirus for Windows 10 according to AV-TEST in July 2020

AV-TEST is a German security firm that performs analysis of different security solutions. To do this, it has more than 200 identical workstations and more than 200 servers with a capacity of over 2,500 terabytes to process and store one of the largest malware databases in the world. This time, they have tested a total of 40 security solutions for Windows 10, either for home users or for professionals and companies. These have faced a whopping 22,000 malware attacks.

Only eight solutions for the domestic market achieve the high score. These are the ones that have 6 points in each of the three analyzed categories such as Protection, Performance and Usability. The first measures protection against threats, the second the impact on the computer and the third, false positives and similar issues.

AhnLab V3 Internet Security, BullGuard Internet Security, F-Secure SAFE, Kaspersky Internet Security, McAfee Total Protection, Microsoft Defender, NortonLifeLock Norton 360 and Trend Micro Internet Security, are the only ones that achieve the highest score in all areas. For their part, Cylance Smart Antivirus, Malwarebytes Premium and Microworld eScan internet security suite fall far short. In fact, the latter only gets 3.5 points in protection.

In the business market, only four antivirus they get 10 (18 in this case). These are: F-Secure PSB Computer Protection, Kaspersky Endpoint Security, Microsoft Defender Antivirus and Symantec Endpoint Protection. The worst two are Cylance Protect and Webroot SecureAnywhere.
