The full F1 2020 features trailer unveils all upcoming changes

The F1 2020 game starts next week almost at the same time as the late start to this year’s Formula 1 season. Codemasters has worked hard to improve the fantastic F1 2019 game with an abundance of brand new features, cars and racetracks.

New features announced for F1 2020

The upcoming F1 2020 game has just released a brand new trailer, which you can see below. We’ve also listed some of the key features to look out for.

Create your own team

What if there was an 11th team? Well, now there can be with the My Team feature. With My Team you can build your only F1 team. Hire teammates, including some of the biggest names like Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc.

You have a full say in the design of the car, from the paintwork to the engine supplier. Manage everything from the aerodynamics of the car to the chassis, durability and marketing and brand sponsorships. Once your cars are designed, you can test your new creations before they hit the track.

Split screen race

Compete against friends in the new split-screen racing mode. While split screen races have been around for a while, it looks like F1 2020 is finally coming.

2 new circuits

The two new circuits that will appear in the new Formula 1 season will also appear in game F1 2020. You can race on the new Hanoi and Zandvoort tracks in Vietnam and the Netherlands.

Shorter season options

Among other things, F1 2020 would like to offer you more flexibility. One way the developers have done this is to offer shorter seasonal options. You can complete the original season with 22 races, or choose a shorter option for 10 or 16 races instead. This way, you can skip the tracks you prefer not to play and focus on the tracks you love.

F2 integration

With a deeper F2 integration, you can choose between a full season, half a season, or an F2 experience with three races. The F2 2020 season will also be added as a free update later in the year.

Virtual rearview mirror

Based on player feedback, a virtual rearview mirror is now included to help players ride wheel-to-wheel with opponents.

Customizable OSD

Customizable OSD means that what you see on the screen can be switched as you wish. You can change the position of your rear-view mirror and move your circuit card to another location.

Simplified ERS overtaking

ERS has been simplified to make overtaking much more realistic. This decision was based on the feedback that the developers had received from the Formula 1 drivers themselves. ERS can now be activated at the push of a button.

Podium fun

This is a brand new feature that allows you to race, earn and unlock items. Every season you race, you can unlock free customization items by earning XP. This includes cosmetic items such as car paintwork, racing equipment and clothing such as helmets and gloves.

Without a good podium celebration, it would not be Formula 1. F1 2020 contains some more animations for podium celebrations. While we may not see champagne flowing at the real Formula 1 races this year (due to social distance rules), we will definitely see it in the game.

Release date for F1 2020

F1 2020 is scheduled to be released on July 10, 2020. It will be available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Google Stadia. You can pre-order it on Steam now.
