The wait is over because Team 17 Digital has now revealed what we can look forward to in the next “Worms” game. This time things are going really well, because Worms Rumble is a real-time arena shooter for 32 players – a really wormy battle royale.
“Get ready to rumble into Deathmatch or Last Worm Standing mode, in which you are only ever one Holy Hand Grenade from death!” Says the game description, which promises plenty of action.
The published trailer shows plenty Multiplayer elements on a 2.5D background paired with chaotic bad fields, a lot of wall jumping and flying balls.
However, comments quickly indicated that there was no destructible terrain in the trailer, since this had played a major role since the beginning of the Worms series. According to Team 17, however, there would be destructible terrain in every level of the game. What can be broken and used varies from card to card.
An exact release date is not yet known, but you can register for the closed beta.
