The Snapdragon 865 leads the top ten most powerful SoCs

AnTuTu has published a new ranking with the ten most powerful SoCs in the mobile sector, and as expected the Snapdragon 865 has been the absolute winner. We had no doubts in this regard, so what is really interesting is to see how the rest of the positions on the list are distributed. I already tell you that there are surprises.

As we have said, the Snapdragon 865 SoC is the most powerful, thanks to its CPU configuration with eight cores divided into three blocks: a high-performance Kryo 585 core running at 2.84 GHz, three Kryo 585 cores at 2.42 GHz and four Kryo 585 cores at 1.8 GHz. Its GPU is a powerful Adreno 650.

Behind the Snapdragon 865 is the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. We had told you that there was a surprise, and here it is. MediaTek had temporarily exited the market for high-end SoCs to recover from the failures registered with its Helio X series chips, and as we can see it has returned through the big door, since it has managed to surpass the Snapdragon 855+.

Snapdragon 865 vs MediaTek

Snapdragon 865 leads, MediaTek surprises

He MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ It has a CPU with eight cores divided into four 2.66 GHz high-performance Cortex-A77 cores and four low-power 2 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. Its GPU is a Mali-G77 solution with nine graphics cores. Not bad at all, although it is clear that the performance of the Adreno 650 from the Snapdragon 865 is far superior.

All in all, the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ has an important advantage over the Snapdragon 865, and that is that has a built-in 5G modem, which helps to significantly reduce costs and allows you to create powerful and next-generation smartphones while maintaining a much more attractive price. The Snapdragon 865 needs an external 5G modem (the X55) to offer this connectivity, something that, as we already told you at the time, represents a significant increase in costs.

The next three positions are occupied, respectively, by the Kirin 990 5G, Snapdragon 855 and Kirin 990. The list is closed by Dimensity 1000L, Kirin 980, Kirin 985 5G and Dimensity 820. I know what you are thinking, how is it possible that the Exynos 990 is not on the list, and do not worry, we are not going to leave you with doubts. This has an explanation, and that is that in this test AnTuTu only takes into account the Chinese market, and in China the Galaxy are distributed with Snapdragon SoCs, hence there is no trace of the Exynos SoCs.

If the Exynos 990 SoC had been included it would have been below the Snapdragon 865 SoC, but above the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ SoC, that is, would have occupied the second position.
