The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition would arrive with a Snapdragon 865 processor and a 120 Hz screen.
Samsung seems to want to repeat the move that made the Galaxy S10 Lite one of the most interesting phones in its phone catalog in 2019 and part of 2020. To achieve this, the company seems to be preparing a new terminal under the Galaxy S20 series at a reduced price, which should arrive sometime in the next few months. It is, as confirmed in SamMobile, of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition.
Until now, the only thing we knew about this device was its supposed name – which, yes, it is not clear if it will be the definitive one. We also knew that it will be available in three colors: blue, white, blue and violet. But today, thanks to a recent leak, we can learn even more data about this new device, including the processor that will bring it to life.
The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition would arrive at the end of the year with Snapdragon 865 and 120 Hz screen
Some of the leaked information comes from leaker of Chinese origin Ice Universe, which has already revealed in advance some information about some Samsung models. On this occasion, he states that the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition would arrive during the fourth quarter of the year. As a curiosity, it is worth remembering that the last time Samsung added the last name “Fan Edition” to one of its mobiles was in 2017, when it launched a renewed version of its failed Galaxy Note7.

This “filter” also reaffirms the inclusion of the Snapdragon 865 inside the phone, as some performance tests had suggested weeks ago. Beyond that, it speaks of a AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate like the one that is present in the rest of the models in the series. In that sense, he points out that the panel will be bored, with a 3.3 mm diameter hole that will house the front camera.
They also talk about IP68 certification which ensures resistance to water and dust. To conclude, it indicates that its price will be “good”, which leads us to believe that, in effect, Samsung plans to try to follow the same strategy as with its Galaxy S10 Lite.
Previously, it had already been rumored about the inclusion of the new 50 megapixel ISOCELL GN1 sensor on the camera of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition, as well as the existence of at least one configuration with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. Having the processor that integrates inside, we also hope to find 5G connectivity.
