The TV news magazine “heute journal” is expanding its broadcasting area. Another “today” format had recently expired.
ZDF introduces a new news magazine. “Heute journal update” is the name of the late edition of the well-known news program of the same name called “heute journal”, as the public broadcaster announced today in Mainz. It starts on September 7th. The format is available from Monday to Friday around midnight – “with 15 minutes of the latest news, background reports, interviews and interviews.”
“This gives the” heute journal “editorial team responsibility for the flow of information throughout the evening,” said deputy ZDF editor-in-chief Bettina Schausten. But: “The show at 9.45pm remains the big flagship of the evening.”
The innovation is part of the overall revision of the news offer. In the past, the “today +” news format was used on the late broadcast slot, but this will be permanently replaced with the new offer. ZDF had also revised its online news offering: the previous website heute.de became ZDF in spring.
