That was quick: the new Galaxy Watch 3 has barely been on the market when Samsung is already distributing an update and making the smartwatch even better. The update delivers one of the watch’s most important features that even has the potential to save lives.
At the beginning of August, Samsung set off a whole fireworks display at an unpacked event and presented a number of new devices. In addition to the Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Tab S7, the Galaxy Watch 3 was one of the stars of the show. Samsung’s new smartwatch is packed with useful functions. Some of the new health features were missing at the market launch, which is why Samsung has now delivered an update.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3: Update gives Smartwatch health features
The update is around 80 MB, reports Sammobile, and among other things enables the watch to detect the oxygen saturation in the blood. Such a function can save lives, especially at the moment. In addition, an extended running analysis is supplied as well as the so-called sleep ratings, which are supposed to visually show how good your own sleep was. The VO2max feature is also involved, which shows the amount of oxygen consumed during a workout.
The update can be downloaded via the Galaxy wearable app, but it is not offered everywhere as some of the health features mentioned are not available in every country. Users from Germany, Austria and Switzerland can breathe a sigh of relief. These countries are not on Samsung’s list of countries not receiving the features.
Keep your eyes open when buying a smartwatch:
Samsung offers the Galaxy Watch 3 in two different sizes
Samsung is also paying dearly for the many features of the Galaxy Watch. The new smartwatch is available in two versions and starts at 418 euros (RRP) for the 41 mm model. If you want the larger version with a diameter of 45 mm, you have to put 447 euros on the table – the optional LTE versions cost even more. After all: If you buy the Galaxy Watch between August 5th and 28th and then register in the Samsung shop, you will receive an inductive power bank for free.
