Various channels with special programs for the death of Ennio Morricone

Italian film composer Ennio Morricone died on July 6 at the age of 91. Many stations will broadcast special programming in his memory in the coming days.

Ennio Morricone worked in the film industry for over 60 years and composed the soundtrack for more than 500 films. The Roman, born in 1928, became internationally famous with the music for several Italo-Westerns of the 1960s, in particular “Play me the song of death”. In the United States he composed the music for “Mission”, “Bugsy” and “The Untouchables – The Untouchables”, all of which were nominated for an Oscar. In 2007 Morricone received the Oscar for his life’s work and in 2016 he won it for the soundtrack for Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight”. Morricone died on Monday at the age of 91.

In his honor, several stations include films with his soundtrack, such as 3sat, Tele 5 and Sky Cinema Classics (plus Sky Ticket and SkyQ on demand). Sky even shows ten films, Morricone’s world hit “Play me the song of death” can be seen on Tele 5. 3sat also shows a portrait of the composer. A brief overview:
