If 5G still doesn’t appeal to you enough to be decisive when buying a smartphone, now the LG Velvet It is in a 4G version only, saving you the extra cost.
LG’s bet with its VELVET is most interesting, trying to bet on a smartphone that is different as well as powerful. It is clear that design is one of the key aspects in the LG VELVET, it is a device that attracts attention, it has very elegant lines and, despite being a large mobile, it is very ergonomic.
The version presented in the first moment has been the LG VELVET 5G, that is, compatible with the new generation 5G networks. However, now comes the LG VELVET 4G and you can already imagine what its main difference is.
The best 5G phones of 2021 would be much more expensive than the current ones
The future Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 could make the best 5G phones of 2021 much more expensive than their current versions.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor on the LG VELVET 4G
It is clear that 5G is going to make a difference in the coming years. Connection speeds and latency improvements will be notable, however we are still far from a full rollout of 5G networks.
Some operators, such as Vodafone, have already started to implement 5G equipment, but today there are still very few areas with 5G coverage spread across the country. Therefore, if you are outside these places, and you want to save a little, LG also presents a version without 5G of its VELVET.
On a physical level it is practically impossible that we can differentiate them, since both smartphones are traced. We continue to have a large 6.8-inch OLED screen in a very marked panoramic format, triple rear camera sensor, screen fingerprint reader …
The key difference is that we lose the compatibility with 5G networks that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 5G processor gave us, and instead they put the well-known Snapdragon 845 8-core 2.8Ghz.
At the moment we do not have an official launch date in Spain, but it is already available on the German LG website, so the launch will be forthcoming. The price will be reduced by around 100 euros compared to the 5G version, remaining around € 550 in this 4G version.
