The German Football League wants to discuss the future distribution of media revenues in three regional conferences with the 36 first and second division clubs. The DFL announced this on Monday in Frankfurt / Main.
Various club representatives have requested a new key to make the distribution of TV revenues fairer. It is about the seasons 2021/22 to 2024/25. Critics complain that the financial gap between the big clubs like FC Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund and the other clubs is too big.
The DFL emphasized: “The decision on the new key for the distribution of media revenues is made by the DFL Presidium responsible in accordance with the articles of association. The goal remains to come to a decision by the end of the current calendar year. ”Top clubs earn the most money from the international marketing of media rights.
According to a distribution list previously published by the “Kicker”, Bayern will receive the most money from the national marketing of TV rights in the next season with 70.64 million euros. Borussia Dortmund (69.73 million euros) is in second place, ahead of Bayer Leverkusen (67.47) and RB Leipzig (65.96). Arminia Bielefeld is the last to receive 29.8 million euros.
